Futakawa Mini Arts Festival, Jan 2017

 

This electroacoustic performance was part of an arts residency at Futakawa Elementary School, in Wakayama Japan with UNSW Art & Design.  A range of field recordings referencing cultural and spiritual contexts of the region were used in the performance, evocative of the sense of loss associated with the closing of the school in 2015 and the lack of population growth in the area.
